The Storytellers Club: Never Have I Ever
The workshop started this week. The first game inspired three rough drafts. Here's my favorite (of mine).
Borrowed prompt: The way we begin the Never Have I Ever writing game is by mining our lives for stand-out events and throwing three of them in the ring for other writers to use as prompts to open up their own stories. Among Linda’s Never Have I Ever offerings was the time she traveled alone to Puerta Vallarta. This is the one that made me want to explore the idea further.

Never Have I Ever Flown Alone
When I was a kid traveling to aunts and grandparents far away, I flew by myself all the time.
When I was in college, I flew back and forth by myself all the time.
When I was divorced and sneaking off to secret rendezvous with a lover, I flew by myself all the time.
When did I become afraid of flying somewhere alone?
When did the anxiety of getting to the airport and the boarding gate on time override the desire to travel, to go to new places and see new things?
